Chris Phillips is an award-winning guitarist whose career has included recording and performing with legends such as John Denver, Jeff Bridges, and Danny Elfman. A true musical journeyman, Chris has lived everywhere from Paris to Los Angeles, but for decades he has made the Aspen, Colorado area his home—where he plays, teaches, and inspires a new generation of musicians.

Known for his solo Spanish and Classical guitar performances, Chris provides elegant live music for weddings, parties, and corporate events. His custom electric flamenco guitar produces a warm, inviting sound that sets the perfect atmosphere. His repertoire is impressively diverse, covering Spanish, Italian, Brazilian, Classical, Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass, and Celtic styles, along with memorable arrangements of standards and show tunes from the Great American Songbook.

Music has been part of Chris’s life from the beginning. Raised in Aspen’s music-rich ski town and born into a family of musicians spanning five generations, he was immersed in sound from an early age. As a teenager, he trained intensively in Bluegrass guitar, earning three Bluegrass awards before graduating from Aspen High School.

Chris’s professional path took him on tour with John Denver and into the studio with composer and Oingo Boingo founder Danny Elfman. He then spent five years studying guitar at the prestigious USC School of Music, becoming a sought-after session guitarist and composer of television commercial scores. In 1988, Chris returned to Aspen, where he has been a cornerstone of the Roaring Fork Valley music scene ever since.
