Venezuelan bassist and composer Gonzalo Teppa presents his powerful new project, “Gonzalo Teppa: Origins”, featuring a collection of original compositions inspired by the rich musical traditions of Latin America—including Venezuelan, Brazilian, Argentinian, and Afro-Cuban influences—alongside elements of jazz, ballads, and more.

Each piece, composed and arranged by Gonzalo himself, is deeply personal, drawing not only from his own Venezuelan heritage but also from the cultural backgrounds of his bandmates. The result is a dynamic and emotionally resonant musical experience that honors the past while embracing the spirit of collaboration and innovation.

This extraordinary ensemble includes:

  • Josefina Méndez (Argentina) – vocals

  • Gabriel Santiago (Brazil) – guitar

  • Alejandro Castaño (Colombia/Cuba) – drums

  • Gonzalo Teppa (Venezuela) – bass and compositions

A very special guest: our own local favorite, pianist Walter Gorra, will be joining the group for this performance.
