Buffalo Joe is a spirited bluegrass trio made up of longtime local musicians with deep roots in the Roaring Fork Valley’s acoustic scene. The group features Randall Utterback (guitar, fiddle, mandolin, dobro, vocals), Steve Johnson (banjo, guitar, vocals), and Trevor Mountjoy (bass) — all of whom have played in many of the valley’s most beloved bands.
Their sound blends tradition and innovation, drawing inspiration from classic bluegrass icons like Bill Monroe, the progressive edge of Old & In the Way, and even bluegrass-style takes on artists like Robert Earl Keen, Steve Earle, John Denver, and The Beatles.
